Siemens Gamesa will supply 96 wind turbines for a wind farm in India

Siemens Gamesa, through one of its subsidiaries, will supply Azure Power India with 96 wind turbines for a 346 megawatt (MW) wind project located in the state of Karnataka, India.

As reported this Friday by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the supply of turbines is expected to begin during the second quarter of 2023.

Recently, last June, the company already announced another contract in that country, this time with the independent producer Vena Energy, to supply 37 wind turbines.

Siemens Gamesa has been present in India since 2009, where it has installed more than 7.5 gigawatts (GW) and has a 40% market share. There, the company has a blade and nacelle factory, as well as an operations and maintenance center in Red Hills (Chennai, Tamil Nadu).
