Mariano Casado receives the Health Law Award sponsored by the AMA Foundation

Dr. Mariano Casado Blanco, specialist in legal and forensic medicine, has received the National Prize for Health Law in its 7th edition, convened by the Spanish Association of Health Law under the sponsorship of the AMA Foundation. The award refers to his work “The figure of the minor in health law”, where he addresses the position of the minor from a legal, medical, cultural and ethical perspective, becoming a legal guide of interest to the health and legal sectors.

Diego Murillo, president of the AMA Foundation, highlighted in the award ceremony the quality of some works “whose values ​​are the search for truth, credibility and professional rigor”. In his opinion “we live in a changing environment” that entails structural transformations in our society, “which give rise to new problems that require an effective legal solution, also from Health Law”.

Mariano Casado has held different positions in the health sector; He has been head of the Forensic Laboratory Service of the Badajoz Institute of Legal Medicine and professor of the Legal and Forensic Medicine Area of ​​the Badajoz Faculty of Medicine, as well as president of the Ethics Commission of the Badajoz College of Physicians.
